Not sure if this is the right forum to use but it's the one I use most:D
This is a bit of a daft question but here goes! I got a pair of nice summer weight curtains from my local charity shop (brand new for £1:money:). They have a border down one edge and I'm not sure whether the border should be on the edge of the curtain so that it's in the middle when they are closed or whether they should be on the end all the time - hope that makes sense!
Hope someone can help 'cos I've got no curtains at my bedroom windows at the moment and I live in a bungalow :embarasse.

usually I think they go at the closing edge.. but try them both ways and see which you prefer.
The label giving wash instructions usually goes to the outside edge.. if that helps any?LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I think its a matter of personal choice, but I would have the border in the middle. Most curtains that are displayed in shops are like this.
Good buy.

If you've got room, lay them down and have a look at them both ways round. Go with whatever looks right to you.
Sometimes the border is like a frame (i.e. outside), sometimes it's a bit more like "punctuation" (i.e. put it in the middle). Some curtains it will be obvious what the designer had in mind and others will be more down to your preference. Without knowing how these ones look (plain/patterned? slight contrast in the border or wildly different? narrow/wide border? etc) its too hard to begin to speculate what I would do with those curtains.0 -

There's no rules - go with whichever way you like best.0 -
Thanks everyone for your help.
I've got room to lay them out next to each other to have a look so will try them both ways.
Having looked at them again I think they could probably go either way.
Will let you know once I've decided!
Decided to hang them with the border in the middle.
