Courtesy is sometimes lost!

Do you find that when replying to a WEM you don't always get an acknowledgement from them? :mad: (is it a prerequisite of PR co's etc.)


I've sent five replies and none of them have been acknowledged. (Even the one I asked them to re-draw!)


I sent a courtesy email to a few of them but not all reply even then.

I don't think I've ever had a response (except maybe from one or two bloggers.)

If they're asking for your address it would be nice to get a reply confirming they've received it, but they never do!

When I've received a parcel, I normally say 'thanks blah, blah'... often never get a response. I know they don't need to, but just would be courtesy to say 'glad you enjoyed your prize'.

Maybe once they've done they're bit, they CBA.

Most of them say you have to respond in a set time so it's a guessing game if they have got your reply (address etc.)

Also I use Hotmail/Outlook so you never know if it went through!

Don't want to lose that golden win opportunity! (After the effort and wait)

That's weird because I've always had a reply, even if it's just to say thank you for sending your details.

I had one a few weeks ago from thisis daily pr company after I'd had to chase a prize - she asked me confirm delivery & when I did she emailed me back to say she hoped I enjoy it

I have had three ladies who were absolutely darling to me and told me to enjoy etc etc but then I was chasing one girl who just flat out ignored me.

I think it's just who you get...

Not that I've won much - but I've always had respones to my responses to Wems Today's one from Virgin Wines even sent another reply after his first listing the wines I'd won so I can look them up and get excited. So courtesy is out there somwhere

I think it varies hugely. Sometimes I've had a bit of a conversation going with a blogger or PR rep after a winning email, other times I've replied and then that's been that, no further contact. It just depends on the individual I think!
