New Income Reassessment Initiative

I've just been told by a CSA caseworker that if a reassessment of the NRP's earnings is requested by the PWC all they do is ask the NRP to confirm their income verbally on the phone.
Apparently this is a new initiative.
The caseworker tried to reassure me that they do ask the NRP to read out a payslip over the phone, including gross, deductions, and net etc. so it's difficult for them to lie, but she also essentially said that they do just take the NRP's word for it. They also only 'check' one payslip.
I now don't know whether to risk asking for a reassessment in case he lies (as is likely if he thinks he can get away with it) and even reduces the figure he 'earns'.
What does everyone think of this new initiative? Has it worked for you?

That's assuming the initiative actually exists, anybody worth their salt, deals with the CSA via written word only, and is the sensible option whether your are PWC or NRP.0

Well I really hope it isn't true, to be honest, because I was assured that if I ask for a reassessment of wages then my NRP would be telephoned and asked to read out one of his payslips.Grateful to finally be debt free!0 -

Well (as I've said before) - it didn't seem to work for me as the NRP when I informed them of a change in circumstances back March...
I let them know when I started work and contacted them again at the end of March (a part worked month) and again after April (first full month worked) and read out all employer details, pay office contact details, earnings, deductions etc...
Here we are in July and I'm still contacting them to pay them over the phone as they haven't processed a payment schedule based on verbal information...
I have since sent them a copy of my P60, March wage-slip (part month) and wage-slips for April and May (full months) so they might actually sort it.!

So, further to this, I emailed my MP (who is already aware of my case) to argue that any income reassessment on my NRP should be based on actual payslips. I've just received this reply. Do you think it's a fob off?Further to the email you received from XXX in my office on Sunday, she has now spoken to the representatives at the CSA on your behalf.
It has been agreed that I will forward your latest email on to the Parliamentary team for further investigation and response, and I shall of course keep you informed of what further I hear from them.
It was from my MP himself (won't say his name or I'll give away my area).Grateful to finally be debt free!0 -
We asked for help from our MP too. He sped things up a bit by getting our letters looked at by the Parliamentary team.He arranged for a meeting with the CSA rep but the day before they said they couldn't come & we didn't find out till the day of our appointment, which was a bit disappointing. My husband asked me to come with him but when we sat down it became apparent that he (the MP)wasn't expecting me as well !Strange, because it was me that asked him to help us ,as one of his constituents using my own email. He even sent me advice about our tribunal in one. I politely said my piece ,about what affects my husband (he was off work several weeks from the stress of it then!)& son affects me & left the room for them to talk about it ! He told us (later in a letter)to go to ICE but from what everybody says on here its too long winded & stressful. I think the CSA baffled him on the 'legislation' too. At the end of the day its the Government who are collecting the CM & the money is coming in at last perhaps they don't want to intervene! I wanted to say the good nrp's are being targeted & made to pay twice ..the bad ones are still escaping paying for their children ..how fair is that!! As the pwc is also a constituent maybe he doesn't want to get too involved. He respectfully came out & shook my hand & wished us all the best (I think he had realised by then I was the one who asked for the help originally !)0

Thanks Cally. How interesting. So what exactly is a Parliamentary team?Grateful to finally be debt free!0

Just the people in his office who deal direct with these matters as opposed who the people in his office who deal with more local matters ,I guess. The same persons name is on all the correspondence that goes back & forth.0

Cally did your MP refuse to see you and your husband together? How on earth could he justify that!0

No,we sat down ,he offered us a glass of water ,he just wasn't expecting me,so when he said that I could feel my cheeks burning out of embarrassment. I sat there for 5 mins carefully composed my piece in my mind.I knew I would regret not saying anything when I got home .This was an issue that was affecting my husband & son & therefore me ! I respectfully said my bit and trying to hold back the tears went & sat in the waiting room of his assistant with her(she made me a cup of tea!) He was very friendly when he came out ,I think he appreciated my discretion. Some of my friends said they would have sat tight & put him straight on what we had done for the pwc etc etc & we deserved to be believed! Lets hope it all comes right in the end !0
