Bad Credit Help
Hi, sorry if this is posted on the wrong forum, but here goes.
Myself and girlfriend have been living in our new mortgaged home for approx 14 months now and we have been having problems swapping are current loan of £17000 to a new bank with a better rate. I have had the equifax report back and it says I have a good credit rating, I am now awaiting my experian.
We have been receiving alot of mail addressed to the previous owner, which we have been putting back in the post as "no longer at this address" but they keep coming. I opened a couple up (naughty I know) put there is mass debt, I mean thousands that he owes. Will this affect my credit rating, and if so what can I do about it? Thanks in advance.

No it wont, your credit file is yours and not affected by anyone else unless you have a financial association with them (eg joint account). provided there is no mistaken association between you and the previous occupant on your file then what they may owe will have no bearing on you.0

Thanks Tom188, much appreciated. When i applied for my previous loans I was not an the electorial register at this address and I believe this may be a reason why I was refused, is this right?0
