Halifax FTB SD offer

Hi all,

I was hoping some of you have managed to get away from the glorious weather to help me.

I'll be putting in an offer on Monday for a property (my 3rd and final) which the vendor has asked for so it's safe to assume it will be accepted (exciting times). I have a 20% deposit with my partner and have been looking at the Loughborough BS 2.49% 3yr discounted vs. the 3.29% offered from Halifax 2 year fixed. As a FTB Halifax are offering stamp duty paid as long at the application is in for 8th July (Monday).

To cut a long story short I've done the sums and the Halifax deal will be better for us over the term of the mortgage. The problem is the timeframes - I basically have until Monday to get this offer.

I know it's difficult to say with 100% confidence but looking at the brokers out there, what do you think the cut-off time will be? If I complete the online application and get my documents to a halifax branch on Monday will I qualify?

Would hate to have submitted the app and missed cut off for the offer and be stuck on the worse rate with stamp duty not paid!

Many thanks all,

James

I guess you still haven't have the valuation carried out yet? So i think it is impossible for you to complete the process by the 8th of July. Halifax will not make you an offer before valuation, and talking about valuation, my one was carried out a month after full application; as their surveyors are incredibly busy atm. The minimum waiting was at least 2 weeks!

    But good luck any way.

Also I hate to bring more bad news but Halifax pulled their stamp duty paid products on 28th June
