Deed of variation has come up before on another forum as a suggestion. Do you have any more details on these instruments?When was the will written since the change to transferable nill rate bands there is limited IHT benefit transferring assets, but still a benefit for care fees.
You also need to review your will.
The will for both my parents was written in 2004 and was written to take into account IHT but not care needs my mum is adament she is to stay in our house and with my ESA being currently under review I may need some cash if and when I need to appeal.
I have emailed AgeUK as they have a local office and may get some advice on the care situation from them. Also seeing bank rep next week who not only wants to see grant of probate but my dad's will too, is this normal?0 -
