Hi all
I am FTB and have about 70k in deposit. What is the maximum mortgage you think I can get?
I know its a very high level question but just looking at ballpark figure.
thanks

Surely that can't be answered without an indication of your income0
-
I need to speak to an IFA to get more acccurate figures but ..
I'm one earner
I have a good job (evident from savings)
I don't have any other commitments other than a mobile phone contract (no car etc)0 -
How much do you earn a year!?0

High level question?????
Its no high level question but a very basic and probably the first question one would ask before starting to look for a property.
However, its impossible to answer without knowing your income!!!0 -
Somewhere between nothing and a few million.
There you go a simple answer to a very simple question.0 -
oh for gods sake..how is anyone meant to know without knowing your income?0

"I need to speak to an IFA to get more acccurate figures"
So you don't know your income?0 -
Maybe the OP is under the impression that the deposit determines the money a lender would be ready to lend, rather than income and outflows??0

the OP was asked in post 2 about income and promptly evaded the question0 -
No it isn't at all.I have a good job (evident from savings)
For all we know you could be 50 years old, never go out, live at home with your parents & do nothing but pay board (oh, and your mobile phone).
I've turned 30 & have £40k to my name, but i wouldn't say i have "a good job". I earn £18k per year, £4k of which is overtime. I live at home with my mum & have done so this long to build my deposit. I don't drink, i don't smoke, i don't go out every weekend. My #1 priority is getting a good deposit together. THAT is why i have the deposit i do & nothing to do with my "good job".
Like they say ... you get out what you put in, and if you put in minimal information to your question.........0
