Picked mine up from local Tescos tonight, only cost me £10.15 from Tesco Direct, seems to work ok and the Tescos Direct bit worked flawlessly.

The Tesco value DVD that Martin links to is actually a re-badged Technika DVD-1030 model, it can be easily unlocked to play any region DVD's by following the following instructions (this will not void your warranty).
- Press the Open button on your remote control to open the drive tray
- Press the Setup button on your remote control
- Press the Next button on your remote control
- Press the Next button on your remote control
- Press the Next button on your remote control
- Press the Next button on your remote control
- The currently selected region should be displayed on the onscreen display
- Using the Left button on your remote control, change the region to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 255 for multi-region playback
- Press the Setup button on your remote control
