Hi all.
We have returned from an extended trip away to find a letter from Smart Parking. The letter has a picture of our car entering and leaving the Asda car park. We we're 50 minutes over time.
The picture was from the 2nd June and obviously we are many weeks over the reduced fee.
We have no more letters from Smart Parking.
Should I contact them or just ignore and see if they follow up?
Thanks
Matt

1. March into Asda and complain to the Store Manager about this harassment of customers. Like here, dress smartly (not joking!) be assertive and DO NOT speak to the CS desk jobsworth frump who will tell you the lie that Asda 'do not own the car park'. Demand to speak to the Store Manager ONLY like in this successful assertive example:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4534485
DO THAT FIRST AND DO IT SOON, WITH RECEIPTS AND THE LETTER IN HAND, WAVING IT ABOUT IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS BUT STAYING ICILY POLITE!
2. If Asda are useless then send these template letters to Smart Parking and to the DVLA as an official complaint (because IF THE TICKET ARRIVED MORE THAN 14 DAYS AFTER THE EVENT, it is far too late if there was never a windscreen PCN which it seems there wasn't):
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=80531
Let us know which approach works! If not there's another stage to the challenge and if the ticket wasn't late you will need to quickly (within 28 days of the Notice) send a different challenge letter for Smart if Asda do not cancel it for you. Don't ask them, tell them!
By the way, if you'd been at home please tell me you WOULD NOT have paid this scam fake PCN at the 'discount'?!!! Who cares about the 14 days on a scam letter?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the reply.
I'm almost certain I wouldn't have paid. I don't have any receipts for my asda trip on that day.
So its looking like I'm going to ignore the letter and see what happens.0 -

Nooooo! Calm down! We no longer advise ignoring unless this was in Scotland.
An easy 2 stage appeal by letter/email and you WILL WIN against these chancers at their expense. A win-win situation for you! Check the letter please for these details:
- is it called a Notice to Keeper or a Notice to Owner?
- does the word 'creditor' appear anywhere?
- does it meet other criteria explained here?

You already have grounds for appeal I suspect. Please tell us the answers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi sorry for the slow reply.
1) The letter is headed 'Parking Charge Notice' No where does it state 'notice to keeper' or 'notice to owner'.
2) 'Creditor' isn't mentioned but 'civil legal action may commence' is.
3) I have read through the list on the website. I was driving and the car is registered to my partner, so the letter has come to her.
The car was spotted by ANPR entering and leaving the Asda car park.
Thanks for your help.0
