For anyone using the JF travel sized shampoos, just want to add that they are very MSE for me.they seem to last ages as Im careful with how much I use.

With the large tresemme, I waste loads I think. It ends up on the shower door and tiles.

    Ooh, so

    3 x 750g Cornflakes
    3 x 750g Frosties
    2 x 500g shreddies

    = £13.24 + 3 petrol coupons

    :)

    Edit : Or 6 x 750g shreddies = £20.34 + fillers ( v Sainsbobs)

pp back for £10 + 3 petrol coupons

    Hello everyone - and goodnight!!:):):rotfl:

Got home only to find the family had scoffed all that 2 litre ice cream:eek::mad::mad:, so - long story - had to sort that out. Fortunately, I'll spare you that story as I'm way too late now:rotfl:.

Just popping in now to say two things.

Thanks CoT:T - this was a good one, regarding the edit, comparing against Sains. as second-best price to W (to whom T do not compare) but the fuel coupons (depending on how much fuel you use) more than making up for that. Sadly, it seems all off now as Sains price looks like it's gone back up to full (and, on msm, I know irrelevant to T PP, there is something that seems very wrong with the price graph for the Shreddies 750g on the Sains side of msm - suggesting Sains have been full price all the way from 16 June and went down to a low of £2. We know that is not the case, as yesterday msm was saying Sains £1.69(?).

It's these types of things - such as losing a few pence on the one hand comparing against a slightly higher price but for the reason of getting something else far more back - that I tend not to think of, which again I think is down to my black and white thinking, which tends only to see the lowest price, but not to think also of the other context behind it (e.g. the fuel vouchers):(.

You've suggested comparing to what was second-best price (e.g. Sains.) but that's only a few pence lost, and you also suggested buying 6 (to meet the 3 for 2 offer I assume but be taken as having spent more and thus getting more fuel discounts) - buying 6 vs Sains. would also have lost about 20p to a capped T PP voucher, but again :T:A because this minor loss of 20p is far outweighed by the amount off the fuel. That's something I'd tend to miss - concentrating, wrongly, on the minor loss of 20p - but the reward for losing that small sum would be something much greater.

If you have an energy company charging £200 but another company £250 (totally fictitious example), but the second company giving £75 cashback, the answer would be to pay the £250 and get the cashback rather than pay the £200. My approach would tend to see you picking the £200 one, as cheaper, and failing to account for the larger sum back (for that £50 sacrifice), namely the £75 cashback.
That's where I need to think more in the round.

So... how does your, probably better, approach compare to mine??
Of course it also depends on how much cereal you need/want to buy/have use for.

You'd have been getting 6 boxes of 750g Shreddies for £10.34 (with the PP) but then perhaps another £1 or £1.50 cost for the fillers. Perhaps £11.34. But 3 petrol coupons of 5p per litre off. If you then fill up with 40 or 50 litres, that's somewhere between £6 and £7.50. Very good for your £11.34 with PP. You'd also have 21 CC points + bag reuse (or 42 CC points if you put in your T CC credit card I assume using it as a CC points collector, withdrawing your card to then actually pay by another card, your debit card, instead), and 11 points on the PP spend later. Possibly another 50p off.

So it's £10.84 for up to £7.50 off (for petrol you would undoubtedly need) - but then perhaps losing 1 or 2p per litre on the first fuel fill-up as T was dearer by about that amount three days ago (when you could have filled up, on one of your three occasions, for cheaper at A, again assuming both stores are available to you and don't themselves take much more fuel to get to them!). So up to £1 lost on the first of the three, but perhaps not the subsequent two fill-ups as petrol prices elsewhere have now risen.

Compare all that to me comparing to 750g Shreddies at A vs M or T when they were £1.49 (as opposed to Sains' former £1.69(?) or Waities current £1.60). That'd be £1.34 per box. Although your 6 Shreddies for £10.34 (we're ignoring the fillers) would be £1.72 per box. 38p a box more expensive (than stocking up on still in-date Shreddies several months ago Avs T/M's lower £1.49 price) x 6 = £2.28. So £2.28 lost by buying the 6 packs of Shreddies now, in T, and vs a higher price, with 20p lost to the £10 cap, but a saving on fuel of £6-£7.50, so you're still pounds in!!

Aau1 can check/doublecheck this all, as I've ran out of time tonight!!:):):D

Second thing was to say that I'll be looking at some of the T fuel-items for Morries prices tomorrow. I've found it will be impossible for me to check the price of every item in the T promotion, for example the pet foods have about six separate sections (from memory) - I was about to print out the whole lot, then found that there would be 20 pages for one section, 29 pages on another, 11 pages or so on another, another 5 on the first section of items - far more pages that the entire Morries list at present and I estimate that it would take at least four to five hours to take down the prices of every pet and pet accessories item in the T promotion. I do not have that time, in addition to my usual checks, to check all these items.

It also seems that just about every ketchup, mustard and table sauce product in T is part of the promotion - so I'd only really be able to get the prices of some of them if they're on special offer in M. The baby items though, and the Nescafe, will be no problem.

In short, I'll have a look at the normal range of items in the M collection tomorrow, plus the two Nescafes, the baby items, the ketchups/sauces etc. if any are on quite good offer for brands or standard range own brands (even if more expensive than Savers items, as the petrol promo may outweigh that) and any of the usual pet items that I see on offer. I'll try to take the Cesar multibuy details (I suspect still on multi in M) but can't promise to note every variety and individual price of them. There's more than enough with the substantive offers than delving into items that, whilst they might turn out to be not on very good offer in M, may compare from T and may be in the fuel promo (sadly I can't print off the varieties that T have, since the number of pages is way too many and without that would have to be checking every variety of Cesar (or other) dog food stocked in M on the supposition that it might be available also in T - and assuming M later turns out to prove to be a better price than Sains. or A5da).

I can only suggest that, if anyone is thinking or planning of using the pet items in T as a trigger to the 5p per litre off fuel, that, if T compares to M for you (i.e. you are outside N Ireland), you visit M and check the price of any specific pet items you might need that you see in the T promo and suspect may be in M. Sorry!!:(

Thanks, everyone, for your attention and I know you appreciate I already do very hard on these sorts of things!!:):)

Oh - just time to mention I did actually get through much of my M collection for the list last time. There were only two pages left for me to check, which may sound a lot but in fact amounted to only about 15 items (including within those 7 different Dove 250mls, so really about 7 or 8). It turned out that savvy sal found on wombles the two items I'd not reached, e.g. the Palmer's Cocoa Butter with Vitamin E Fragrance Free 250ml (sorry, having to clarify exactly which one I've found M to stock) which, last time, was on offer in M - better priced than Boots I think - so Avs M on that - finding out tomorrow whether that's still on - and many thanks Sal!:T

    It's late!! Goodnight and I'll be back v. late(:rotfl:) tomorrow night!!:):) :wave::wave:

Oh I know, if Wade vs Ando goes all the way, which I imagine it will, we'll be here for a while yet! I have a funny feeling that my plan of going to the gym after putting DD to nursery in the morning may change to me coming home and going to bed instead :rotfl:

I don't bother my backside with makeup  Too much hassle for me :rotfl: I'll just stick with being a bag lady :rotfl:

What an up and down day!
Woken at 3am to a massive thunder storm. Couldn't get back to slepp so I went to T's (as you do) :rotfl:
Found 5 full clip strips of winegums for 1p, gave 1 clipstrip to friendly sa to keep her sweet. :D
Found 2 whole boxes of crackers, scanned at £2.19. :(
And tonight i went to a home plus to look for 4p clothes and found loads of which I thought were 4p. The kids shoes, I thought I'd check, but as they have no scanner, I found an innocent looking kid with his pricer to check, Yep, 4p. By the time I'd grabbed a few more things, he's ran off to cs and blabbed.
Got to tills and the manager was waiting!!! He told me I wasn't allowed all the items, but would let me have 1 as a good will gesture!!!!!!!!!! Argued with him but no joy. When I asked him what they do with the other items he actually replied. " T's don't sell 4p items and they're put down as wastage so will go into the compactor.:eek::eek: I said to him that that was criminal, and he said they do it all the time.
I'm gonna email T's to see if this policy is right. Even if they don't let the public have them, surely they must go to some sort of charity!!!
