Thank you so much fairclaire for your kind words.
What kills me the most was that I was the only person in our family not to know my dad was told he had 3 years life expectancy from his 1st surgery. I was in denial for those 3'years. Those 3 years were very rocky with dad. So sad, I think he kept it from me knowing I was so far away from him and knowing me I would drop everything and be by his side. He was so strong, I remember him telling me that his dr saying do what you need to do, get things sorter and I was like no
Way dad your fine. And he was up u to 2 months ago. It's been such a shock.

My poor dad was counting down the months and days till the 3 year anniversary and he died exactly 3 years from his first operation. I'm so glad he got everything sorted did what he wanted to do. I t hurts that in the 6 years I've been here he did not visit me once. Just need to get over that really and forget.

Thank you to every ones kind words and thank god I have a 6 months and almost a 3 year old keeping me really busy.

Take comfort in the fact that your Dad must have loved you very much to spare you three years of worrying and waiting and disruption to your life. He put you first, something any good parent would do for their kids. Im sure he would have known how difficult it would have been for you being so far away.
You sound like you have a great family of your own and that will help you get through. When my Dad died I felt very alone, my Mum had gone, Im an only child and have no wider family either. Having my own family and all the dramas that go along with it :o helped alot :)
  • They might be able to pay for all that themselves so that you and the mrs can enjoy your few bob:D
Somehow I doubt it, Uni fees in England are ridiculous these days. However, we may come to a compromise where if we give them x, they pay the rest. However, it is incredible to have the opportunity to help them out.
I think the plan is, they do well at uni and get a degree at the end of it, we pay all the fees. No degree, no cash and they will have to repay their loans themselves. Hopefully this will stop them being complete reprobates like myself and Nerfdad (and probably Dotty too)!!:rotfl:

Totally messed this shop up, jammys and smarties showing. Obviously I went wrong somewhere!!!

 Looks like the Burton's Dodgers are now on MSM. And APG has missed M's price of 57p on those. (S 55p to 23/7.)

I think you bought the right things.

:eek::eek: Intake of breath - just noticed Smarties Cones now appearing. Only put on vs T shopping now - T £1.24, can go with the Cadbury Crunchie Blast Sticks but will probably pick up the 2 for £3. MSM has clearly been updated.

Such a shame as well on the biccies - with M having a variety of other ones (including Fox's Nice Creams) at 57p that could otherwise have worked well.
  • Agreed.:p:p

Life is v good at the mo. Sitting here talking bilge with my cyber buddies, drinking a tin of wifebeater, looking forward to my house sale completing in about a fortnight. I've never had any cash for pretty much my whole life and the prospect of having some is amazing.

Isn't it funny that once you have kids, you no longer think of yourself? All I can think of is that we can now see them through uni without any problems, maybe buy them their first car and give them a deposit for their first house.

    !!!!!!, they are only 7 and 5!!:rotfl:

You are right though, now is the time to plan:)
