Morning all,
Struggling to keep up with the list, too much real life happening.
Also struggling with toothache and the dentist is struggling to find out the cause! At least I think I know for sure which tooth it is, which is 2 teeth down from where I originally thought it was. My anxiety about getting it sorted is sky high, but am flying to Italy on Friday to visit family, so am trying to be brave!!
Happy Belated Birthday 3Dogs.
I can't believe how mean tosco has been with the petrol promo, they actually want us to pay these overpriced prices!!!

Last time they did it Asda very generously cut the price of Robinson's 1.75 lt. (halved it?) and something else if I remember correctly, so we all got PP's back.
I still have about a dozen Robinson's so please Mr Asda would you halve the price of the spread this time? Perhaps Mr S or Mr M would oblige - we would really appreciate it!
Wouldn't mind if the Plenty was at least halved in price.
Surely someone from their marketing teams has a grudge or totally hates Mr T? Come on DO IT!0 -

Yep, I'd be happy with the plenty being the one.0 -
Hiya guys, just checking in before I go to bed
Had a terrible drive down to the New Forest on Friday:eek: Really painful left knee and then started getting cramp in right thigh/groin ... seemed to take forever to get here
Picked up a hire wheelchair locally on Saturday and have used that to get about since. Went to London for the Hampton Court Flower Show on Sunday with Steve, Andy and Kit and I am so glad I had the wheelchair or I wouldn't have made it there never mind get around the showground. We all had a fantastic time there though :j
Today, we have been to Southampton, and had a lovely time in Ikea picking up lots of good bits, and then Andy treated us to a meal at TGI for my birthday so it made a lovely day for me. Lots of cards this morning and balloons/banners, and neighbour of the lads came down this evening with a lovely homemade birthday cake, with a doggy on top of course
It was my 60th birthday today and I really don't feel any different. I have never put much store on age actually, though my arthritis often makes me feel more like 90 at times  Alan and I always planned for something special for my 60th and I always felt that he would be here with me to celebrate it, but, although I am sad that he isn't here, my friends have made it extra special for me. No bus pass or state pension for me though, I have to wait until 6/7/2017 for that , but at least I get free prescriptions from today
The weather has been scorching and it looks to continue like this for a while yet. Hope everyone is enjoying it while it is here
Happy Birthday for yesterday, 3Dogs. :bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:
Glad that you had a lovely day.0 -
If people are going to be doing this then a little reminder
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2042102/Tesco-Sainsburys-shoppers-face-convictions-abusing-money-vouchers.html
A timely reminder and worth noting - misleading and misrepresenting could get you into hot water and also any such activities would be against MSE rules and rightly vetoed on this forum.
I do not use SS tills for mocs - coupon acceptance policy is determined by the store/company and they can accept whatever they like, when they like and change the rules at a whim. Their policy is implemented by their staff, who are the ones that determine what coupons can be taken in what circumstances. I am very fortunate to have a store with a flexible attitude to coupons and many also benefit from this around the country - others face a stricter regime, but this thread caters for all.
We seem to be narrowing down what is and is not acceptable to post. I did think about mentioning the JF moc and waited a while as I guessed the response, but I am not advocating anything and everyone is a grown-up able to make their own decisions. This is posted elsewhere and loads of peeps are benefitting, so seems a shame for Eliters not to have the same choices. So much really really good stuff is no longer posted here because there is a judgmental vibe and only the "safest" options go without comment. Pretty much every post about JF or Cushelle could be hauled up but (correctly in my view) isn't.
I very much admire the dedication some put into their shopping lists and am very envious of the time some have to visit several supermarkets a day, each day of the week, but the style of shopping that involves working out multiple shops to save 20p on a loaf is simply not for me - I wish to maximise my savings in a single visit to a single store and work my shopping lists accordingly. We are all different and I think this thread really thrives and is vibrant when those differences are at best welcomed or as a minimum tolerated. I no longer post my shops and many of my ideas because sometimes they are heavily criticised from a perspective that I don't really understand.
As long as things are legal, do not break MSE rules, do not bring MSE or the thread in to disrepute, do not cause long term damage/fall-out to store coupon acceptance policy/manufacturers issuing mocs, etc - then anything goes.
I have learned a phenomenal amount about savvy shopping from MSE over the years and always felt this was the place to be for the hottest hints, tips, bargains, glitches. Lots of folk who shop my way no longer post here and I think that is a real shame but understand why - I would love to see some of that vibrance, buzz and shameless derring-do return, but fully understand that the thread goes with the flow of the majority who chose to post.0 -
Morning all
Happy belated birthday 3dogs
Marbett, hope you get your tooth sorted Hun. Visiting a dentist for any reason usually scares me half to death so you have my sympathies
DS2 is still really sleepyI thought he may have recovered last night when he woke up and ran laps of the garden but overnight his temp went back up again and he's gone back to being really sleepy
I assume he just has no energy now because he's not ate a lot in the last 3 days
Means the poor lad has missed out on his school trip today he was really looking forward tooHistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55
If you focus on what you have left behind, you won't see what lies ahead - Gusteau0
