Today was a no-shop-spend visiting friends and family day. Went to a theatre company costume & props sale this morning, hoping for a few bargains, but didn't see anything that really tempted me. There was a prop coffin, which I was tempted by, but I couldn't think what to do with it:rotfl:Though I did see someone walking out with a wearable pantomime-type horse (you know, the kind you step inside, and your legs are the horse's legs) - well, they were 'riding' it out into the carpark ... classic.
I'm ahead in the food stakes this weekend as well, as I called in to see my mum and dad this afternoon, to drop off my mum's birthday pressies (signed copies of Deborah Moggach novels - she wrote the book that Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was based on) and my mum insisted on me taking some food with me (tomato & marscapone sauce, and spinach & walnut ravioli, from Sainsbury); it was actually from my sister, as she and the family are off on holiday today, so passed on some near-sell-by-date food to my parents.
And my mum wouldn't take 'no' for answer - mums don't, do they? I bet it's the same the world over, when sons and daughters visit parents, the mums always insist on them taking some food away with them.
But I'm a little the same. When friends call round, for whatever reason, they usually leave with some edible goodies; a mate called round earlier in the week to help out with some DIY, and he left with a bottle of HM chipotle sauce and a tub of HM pizza sauce.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, everyone'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Don't forget to tell him the tv had no remote control.
Not that he would believe such a ridiculous statement0 -

I was lucky you did. I only counted 2x20p- 10%. I think ill leave the maths to aau:rotfl:

And the TV didn't start till close to five and it was kind of a children's hour with two programmes and Jackanory. Except for Friday when it was Crackerjack!
And they played the national anthem after the last programme. And you needed a special button so your telly could get BBC2.
My grandparents telly was older than that and they called BBC1 channel 3 and STV was channel 3. Of course it wasn't called BBC1 back then!
And every second TV show (Gunsmoke, Bonanza, High Chaparral, Wild, Wild West, Maverick, Alias Smith and Jones, the Virginian, the Lone Ranger, etc....even Kung Fu) was a western (as were half the movies).:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

(Correct me if I'm wrong!)
Oh yes you are correct! I just grabbed the purple one without realising that it is a slightly different colour to the pinky purple one that I have been using every day for the past goodness knows how many weeks! Bother! Still, I guess a change of scent will be nice.:(
Thank you for pointing it out Helena3kids xx
Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x
EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!0 -

Use the cond spends first. Apart from my Zero shop I also got another one down from £33.xx to about £2 ! I used a £4 wys £30 till spit, then a £3 wys £20 till spit, then a £3 wys £20 CC coupon from the last mailing followed by 8 JF coupons, 4 Emmi coupons, a couple of Price Promise coupons and some money off specific products from the last mailing. Its best to make sure that the balance is always more than that needed for whatever conditional spend you are using.
Great bottle you have :A.
What a great teacher you are.never stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit0 -

It could have been that they didnt take the sample properly, but the neurosurgeons are involved now so hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it.
He's a bus driver and had the worst headache he's ever had. He said that he almost passed out while driving a couple of times. I feel sick when I think of what could have happened
Trying to be reassuring to my parents, but sometimes a little bit of knowledge is too much
QoC hope your brother gets better soon and it is not anything serious. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. x :A0
