So who is going to be tuning into the tennis? I'm a Roger Federer fan but as he's out- dunno who I'm rooting for tbh.
Does that sound terrible? I don't really care for Andy Murray but I suppose it would be nice for a Brit to win, even if I don't warm to him!
I may be watchingI was never a Fed fan though. He was just too perfect a player which never made me warm to him either. I love Murray's passion but can appreciate that it comes across as a bit 'brattish' at times. When I was watching Janowicz the other day, he reminded me a lot of what Murray was like at the same age. Djokovic is bloody brilliant though so he's got a hard task ahead.

Well I am just grateful that the topics are (sometimes) becoming more interesting. I am glad to be moving on from memorising the whole sky TV channel listing, yes all 1000+ channelsand a long and very boring (for me) obsession with BBC I-dents :rotfl::rotfl:
My favourite is the BBC News Channel, when Maxine Mawhinney (usually) is on at 12.05pm Sats only and finishes on BBC1 continuing on the News Channel. They have so few moments like that now - after Huw Edwards' 10.30pm handing over to Chris Eakin has long finished. (They just end the news at 10 now with going, boringly, to a programme trailer.) And of course I've always been interested in the precise time and the exact moment when tv or radio stations join each other. I've even sometimes had two sets on, in the now long distant past, just for the moments before they join. My favourites are strike days when Chris Rogers is doing the news at six/ten, and says "...bye for now" and then pauses for a short age, whilst BBC 1 leaves, and then keeps on the News Channel. (Sadly missed one of those when I was on holiday and could only get BBC1 and not the News Channel in addition.) I prefer the (BBC1 simulcast*) news on strike days - otherwise the 'worst' news programmes at the one, the six, the ten and BBC Breakfast (can't stand that - even have to go to Sky at that point, that's if I'm up and not going to work).
[Edit: Fiona Bruce on the ten's good though.]
*Except it's not a true simulcast (so the word 'simulcast' is not precise enough for my real liking) - as the News Channel has the ticker and therefore subtlely and slightly different (making all the difference for me, meaning there are two separate versions, not a simulcast i.e. of the exact same thing).0 -
Hello Tom and Patti. Thank you for thnking of me. I have been using this laptop which was still logged in as Womble Queen. So I've now logged out, and logged in as This nik, which I know the password to. Womble Queen is now no more. I've been lurking and reading, but didn't want to post using this laptop as I think its against the rules to have two nick names.
I trust you are all well.

Call me strange (and I don't care - no longer anyway, stopped worrying about other people's views there years ago). It's not strange it's just a deep interest. If that's 'strange'*, so be it! Yours, proud to be 'strange'. (Rather that than the majority's normalness that just aren't interested - which is rather 'strange', in the sense of wierdness, to me but simply only 'wierd' (and then only slightly so) from my point of view.)
*Which it probably is by dictionary definitions.0 -
