Useful discovery about Clarks online shopping

I've been stalking the Clarks website for a few weeks waiting for a reduction on particular pair of sandals. They started at £50, reduced to £40, then to £30, but I've been hoping they would reduce a little bit further as I want to buy two pairs.

Obviously, if I leave it too long then they might sell out of my size so I decided today to just get them for their current price of £30 (less a 10% discount they are offering until 8th July because there was a problem with their online ordering recently). *

I was having a quick skim through their FAQs and discovered that if you use the "Collect from Store" option instead of having them delivered and then the price drops between the time of placing your order and the time you collect you pay the new price. It can take up to five days for them to be available for collection and then you have nine days to collect. You are also under no obligation to buy, and pay nothing until you go into the store to collect.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the price will now reduce again sometime over the next week :)

ETA: *The 10% discount will still apply because I ordered them before the 8th. I just have to take a copy of my email order confirmation.

I ordered my Clarks shoes via Quidco and got a few pennies cash-back. You can still get them delivered to the store, so no delivery charge.

Can't seem to find the place to enter the promo code when choosing the deliver to store option. Anyone know?

Somewhere in the info for the promo code it says that you don't need to enter it for delivery to store - just take your order confirmation with you when you collect.

This is a quote from the email they sent me about the 10% discount.

    "[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Terms and Conditions:
This promotional code entitles you to 10% off your next order of Clarks footwear and bags when shopping online at clarks.co.uk or in store between 4th July 2013 and Monday 8th July 2013. If choosing the home delivery option online, you must enter the promotional code ‘BESORRY4’ at the checkout. You do not need to enter ‘BESORRY4’ at the checkout if selecting the collect from store option. The discount won’t show in your basket, but will be deducted in store. When collecting your order from store, you must show your web order confirmation to confirm the order date. The last collect from store order date is Monday 8th July. This offer is also available in Clarks UK stores when quoting the code ‘BESORRY4’ at the till, printing or presenting the web page / email on your phone. No cash alternative is available. This offer ends at midnight on Monday 8th July 2013. This offer is not redeemable at factory / discount outlets, wholesale retailers, channel island stores or any other Clarks store outside of the UK."

We had a nightmare ordering online with Clarks a week ago. It didn't look like any orders had gone through, so Mrs Frog ordered to pick up in store. She is a size three.

When she went in and tried them on, she said no, too big. The *Manager* then had a go at her saying that she always orders the small sizes and leaves them because they are too big. And that she as the shop manager then gets left with all the small sizes in her shop.

I said to Mrs F "you should have said....and that's my problem why?"

Instead she said "well Ive just had an order confirmation through for another pair of size 3 that were ordered when your website was playing up, and I will be bringing those in tomorrow!!!"

    1) they shouldn't have had a go at my missus and
    2) if they have the shoe in the store, they should fulfil the order from store rather than send another pair to the store
    3) having a go will only encourage me to order loooooaaaaddddssss more size 3 shoes into that shop

Wish I had found this when I was on their site. I went ahead and ordered for home delivery as the promo code box appears on the payment page - which you don't see with store delivery. Now, I'll be worried I miss out on further in-store reductions as posted by OP!

    Thanks, anyway.
