My mother has applied to buy her house through the right to buy scheme and she is 71 and retired. I will be providing the finances for her to buy the house in her name and I was wondering if she would be able to get say a 5 year mortgage in her name with myself as a guarantee on the mortgage or take out a joint mortgage with her in both our names. I am neither on the tenancy agreement of the house or have been living with her for the last 12 months.

Was also hoping to getting advice on which are the best mortgage lenders with regards to right to buy

yes, as she is the tenant she has to buy in her name but im looking at the best ways for myself to fund the purchase for her

There are no lenders permitting guarantor on right to buy.

You can raise the money elsewhere, lend her the money for a cash purchase and protect yourself by second charge.
