Never been to Leeds before but heard about all the fab shops. What markets or shops are open on a Sunday afternoon? Or have you other suggestions for things to do/ places to visit.

if you've got time to visit a park Roundhay is a lovely park and has "Tropical World" I don't rate their website but the place is great fun - has a butterfly area, animals from the rainforest, desert, lots of strange fish and a few other creatures, only £3 too! open all week.

    not sure about markets, sorry.

    Hi
There is a farmers market in outdoormarket next to the bus station two sundays a month.
There are also plenty of nice restaurants and bars ( las igunas do happy hour all day sunday) and the corn exchange is also worth a visit.
The sunday joint at the hifi club is know to do great food to a easy jazz background..

On a Sunday the main market is closed, which is a shame as someone who is originally not from Leeds I can tell you that the market is fantastic! The farmer's market is full of organic/unusual stuff but can be a little pricey.

Most of Leeds centre is open on Sunday, so if you like shopping there is plenty to see. If you are coming by car, you may like to look in to Crown Point (two minutes from the bus station by car) which has a HUGE TKMaxx. The White Rose centre (near Elland Road for footie fans) is not bad, and a little down the road at Junction 27 is a huge retail park with an IKEA, Toys R Us and loads of others as well as a Showcase Cinema and about a dozen fast food restaurants across the road.

Roundhay Park is a little out of Leeds Centre, but is also fantastic. I love the tropical world, and the meerkats there are my favourites. Don't forget the Royal Armouries (free to go in). This time of year they have live displays and they are really good fun (but take sandwiches, because the food is really over priced).

Hope you have a good day.

    Always another chapter
