I have been known to frequent the cheaper shops - usually B&M for the non-fresh items. Sometimes with me it's convenience, I have periods of rushing about, hardly feel like I'm in the house, so just go to the supermarket on the way home from work - being evil Tesco!
Anyway...
I am currently trying to keep my cash spends to a minimum, so that I don't become overdrawn in either of the chargeable accounts. Now have £13 in one account and £4 in the other
the 0% OD has £40 left after D/Debits so I am trying to stick under £50 cash left to spend til payday (8th Aug) on everyday little things that add up.
Had my birthday money, so the cheques will be banked tomorrow hopefully :jthis will go on the wedding, hen do and trip spends!
I have used the MSE deal to get Sky, so need to ring Virgin asap to cancel (I know this is a luxury but like I said, I have more boring areas to cut down on first!) They are charging me £10 set up fee to put phone line in - but I will save this on first month compared with what Virgin were charging!
Must ring Aqua Card to cancel, I don't want this anymore, it's just taking up space in my (broken!) purse!
Finally got the courage (desparation?) to ask again re mileage at my hobby. I used to travel 20 miles a week for it, and moved to a new place so from Jan have done 100 miles a week instead. It's really impacted on the petrol budget
The expenses will only be around £30 a month, but better than nowt!
Right off to ring Aqua!

Relatively painless to sort.. the service advisor told me it was "very serious" that I was cancelling my card. Not sure why, I hardly use it and it has 0.00 balance on it!0

They like to tell you it'll have a negative impact on your credit file. It'll have an impact, but it's unlikely to be a huge deal if you're managing your money well (or y'know, decently in terms of no late payments etc).
Food is my downfall as well - how difficult is it to go to Tesco and spend less than £10?My Debt Free Diary

...as was cancelling Virgin! Unfortunately now have an overlap of 2 and a half weeks of both Sky and Virgin! BUT due to them not noting that I was on an 18 month contract when I signed up (cos I weren't, I'm sure it was 12!) I managed to escape paying a termination fee - phew!0

I have excellent credit, strangely, everything get paid on time! They didn't try any tactics with me, freedom!
Tesco is the worst for me, I know they are marketing to sell certain products to me and I still let myself be sucked in!
Ooo look, jaffa cakes half price! Ooo fancy olive oil that I have lived perfectly well without up until now.. I must have it!

They always seem to have Jammy Dodgers as their cheapest biscuit when I go in, possibly 'cause I love Jammy Dodgers and despite the fact I didn't go IN for biscuits, I always come out with a pack!My Debt Free Diary

Biscuits are a neccessity in life
hmm just thought of a slight annoyance with me closing my Aqua card. It wasn't until last month that I noticed the statements have cashback on them. Think it was on £17 odd that I'm owed! Pretty sure they're not going to let me have that now
Might give them another call later on - joy!

Well thats one busy weekend over with!
I got more money that I expected for my birthday so it's looking like (if I just keep on track!) that I may get out of my two accounts overdrafts that charge interest
just need to stay out of them then!
Have to go to Tesco after work
severe lack of petrol in car so won't get much further! Trying to decided whether to go in - only need salad for dinner tomorrow, or whether it is too dangerous and I should make a special trip to aldi nearer home

Phew, went in Tesco but managed to escape paying only £9-something on salad that I knew I needed, and bleach that I forgot I needed but definitely did
(oh and some frozen things that I really fancied for my tea!) so no feeling sick with guilt and panic and the massive spend on the way out!!
I feel like I may be reaching for that light switch now... spent most of the day thinking money strategies :j cheque going in the bank after work, transfers done so all the money for my direct debits on the 1st is already in the right account and won't be touched!
I've amended my standing orders - 1 to my friend, 1 to my dad, to be 4-weekly on my payday which will hopefully be easier to manage (and keep them sweet as they will get 13 payments a yr rather than 12!).
Soooo I now have £100 cash (and £70 I am willing to use credit for which will be for petrol) to last me two weeks - easy peasy if I didn't have the hen do and the trip away, but still possible I think!

Feeling pretty meh today.
Money wise everything seems to be on track, although fish chips and a bottle of pop last night at £6.10 was a shocker:eek: I was out the house until late and stupidly not very organised. Also had to buy dinner from works canteen today
Anyway feeling meh - partly boyfriend problems, but mainly work. I really don't enjoy my job, find it mind-numbingly boring actually! I would love to be able to afford to go part time somewhere else and leave myself free to start a business (accountancy type, ironic I know ). But this kind of things need money!! Work pay for my course and this is a massive reason to stay as it works out at around £2000 a year.
Ok so target - end of 2013 - pay off overdraft before charges kick in (£100 a payday to achieve this)
2014 - begin to build up clients alongside full-time work, using the money earnt from this to pay back friend quicker.
2015 - save up some emergency funds so that I have a small amount to fall back on if my business idea falls on its !!!!!!
Will be qualified in 2015 if all goes to plan so yeh only 2 years to go until I can stop the Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday morning dread
only 2 weeks until payday...0
