I sometimes tick communication because sometimes they send out special offers if it's a product that you are actually interested in on a day-to-day basis (clothes, wine etc
) but generally avoid it.... and I have had some decent wins

I don't think we'll ever know for sure but certainly it SHOULDN'T but not all companies are honest. However, I always click no and I'm always winning so personally I don't really think you have less chance
good luck

I generally tick yes to e-mail and no to everything else or if it isn't specified. I don't think I do too badly.
We will never know though how it affects our chances.Don't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli
Thank you to all who post competitions & help the smooth running of the comps board0 -

I usually tick yes to receive email from the company running the comp but no to third party contact. After the first newsletter, I usually unsubscribe - I don't really know if it makes a difference as it is something I have always done. I win regularly.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

Almost certainly no difference as there are only really two scenarios.
1) An honest proper random draw where it definitely makes no difference.
2) A dishonest fiddled draw where where it still probably makes no difference as you wouldn't be winning anyway - Why would they would stop at just excluding those who didn't sign up, if they are fiddling anyway they are most likely to go the whole hog and choose the "winners" they want who will either be non-existent or staff/family etc.0 -
