I know, it's a very girly question, but do you have to be smartish or is that only if you're a defendant? And does it help to look a bit hard up, ie if I go in wearing clothes that don't fir and are spattered with baby food, will they feel a bit sorry for me? :rotfl:

Lol! it doesnt matter sweetie. Wear comfy clothes it's a stressful day for anyone but nothing to worry about nonetheless. It's your SOA the judge is interested in, not your wardrobe. Don't wear an Armani suit!!!BR 18 Oct 2006 Discharged 16 April 2007 :T0

haha, cheers! I don't think I could really do smart if I wanted to, I'm strictly casual these days. Mainly because I'd be covered in biscuit or pureed broccoli within about 2 mins. :rolleyes:0

I wore jeans and a T-Shirt covered in Rainbows (and carried my designer baby-aged 1) OH wore cords and T-shirt and with accessories including 3 year old who refused to go to playgroup.
A family outing!:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0 -
I turned up wearing a suit, shirt and tie and feeling most uncomfortable. The solicitor for HMRC looked as though she had just come back from a Jumble Sale'.
I don't know why I bothered, although the Judge was 'immaculately turned out'.
To be honest - it makes NO difference.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I wore jeans and a black tshirt, there was another girl about my age (early 20s) there who wore black trousers and a smart top. It really doesn't matter as to be honest you don't actually spend that much time talking to anyone! If it hurts no-one, let it be :beer:0

I think that, for reasons of self esteem, it might be as well to dress as smartly as you can manage. That's what I'm planning, anyway.0

I went along smart for self esteem reasons too. Well, smart shirt, jeans and minimum jewellery. Remembered to leave the Cartier watch at home ;-)DISCHARGED 12th December 2007:T

Proud to have dealt with my debts0 -
You spend most of your time (@3 hours it seems), in a waiting room. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Then you sit in a court room (well some do) miles away from the judge, who wouldn't really be able to see what you were wearing anyway! And that lasts around 5 mins. So if you dress up, it is only for yourself thats for sure.
And if you are too well dressed, it would look really bad declaring bankruptcy!!!
Made sure my daughters weren't dressed in Monsoon thats for sure LOL!
I felt we should go as 'us', as it was 'us' that had to be declared bankrupt.:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0
