Buy to let remortgage.

Hi does anyone know if its possible to remortgage a buy to let property when there is a tenant already in situ?
My friend was saying this morning that the buy to let mortgage has increased by £75 a month as this is the second year since buying.
My friend and her husband intended to rent for a year then sell this property and get another to do up but the people who are renting want to carry on renting,I said I think they can remortgage to get a better deal but I'm beginning to doubt myself now :)

    Mom.

It would be a very shady industry if we had to kick tenants out everytime someone wanted to remortgage.

Of course you can, bear in mind though that if they remortgage to a different provider then they would most probably need a surveyor round to check the house is worth what they're saying it is.

Thank you,I'm glad I didn't give her wrong info, she realises she will need a new survey done.
    Thanks again.
