Social gathering for elderly people

Hi,
I hope this is the right section to post.
Basically a friend of mine is a refugee and doesn't speak much english.
She is getting depressed as has not being able to adopt to the current situation.
Are there are community gathering or classes for people on her level so she can at least have some social interactions and try and adopt to this calture?
