If they don't test on animals, how will I know it's going to get my hair all shiny and full of body? Plus, the amounts of completely unkempt dogs and monkeys with greasy hair will increase and I'm not OK with that.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

There's several articles out there disputing the wording Boots use, and pointing out that the fact they don't do the testing themselves, on certain products, doesn't mean that products they sell aren't animal tested.
Do you have these article available? I would be interested to read them

I can try to dig them out...will be able to find them more easily when I'm back in work but a google hunt on something like 'boots claims on no animal testing' may give you some stuffPrincessPlaty wrote: »Do you have these article available? I would be interested to read them
But just to be clear, as OP seemed very principled about companies doing any testing on animals, my original point was that Boots cannot claim no involvement with animal testing as they are also involved in pharmaceuticals. I wouldnt comment on their cosmetics/toiletries, but any drug licenced for use in humans in the UK MUST have undergone animals testing, it's an absolute regulatory requirement, and even if you're talking about selling a generic medicine, the ingredients will have been tested at some point, if not directly tested by Boots themselves.0 -
Liz earle haircare is really good and they do a special one for very dry hair, cruelty free too :-)0

Before washing your hairs just give a gentle massage with coconut oil or any other hair oil. After 1 hour wash your hair and just warp a soft towel dipped in hot water on your hairs.0

I have long dry hair and have used Superdrug's 'coconut and sweet almond' conditioner with good results.
Very reasonable priced too, at 99p!

They do one for fine hair too Cherry and Fig but the conditioner seems to be instore, also this one http://www.superdrug.com/conditioners/naturals-conditioner-henna-sweet-chestnut-300ml/invt/210860
On offer at 2 for £1.49, I use this brand all the time and my hair has never been better, just because it's cheap doesn't mean it lacks quality, read the reviews on all the naturals range and they are glowing.
Ex Body Shop user I am, just too expensive.0 -
All of the co-op's products are cruelty- free; I think there's a coconut one for dry hair. (My local store has been making a big thing recently about their having been the first BUAV approved range, even the body spray has the BUAV logo on the box.)They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

All I will say is why don't you send Boots an email and ask them the question yourself, then sit and compare the differences between the email you receive back and the one posted here http://buyingcrueltyfree.com/boots-no-7-animal-testing-policy-details/
You shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet

If your loaded with cash to spare, Aveda don't test on animals http://www.aveda.co.uk/cms/customer_service/faq.tmpl I love their products, they always work so well with frail and damaged hair and leave results which look and feel really good. I just wish I could afford to buy them!0
