Winning a holiday for 2 comp but no partner ?

I was thinking when I enter romantic holidays like for 2 in maldives or somewhere I don't actually have a boyfriend or husband :o

I would prefer a ( girl ) friend to come with me or my mum because I know she's dying to go on a holiday but can't afford it and we would still chill out and have a good time.

Is this really embarrassing and different ? what about some comps when they request to see pics from your holiday , it may look awkward ....

you'll be OK unless it specifically says it's for couples (such as honeymoon comps) but even then there is the option for pretending to be a same sex couple (obviously your friend not you Mum, that would be plain nasty)

My Daughter has been on 3 comp holidays and has travelled each time with her same sex friend. Each time they have asked for twin rooms and got them.

They wouldn't/shouldn't even question it, there are all sorts of couples so they shouldn't say a word about who someone came along with.

I wouldn't think it would be an issue. If they ask for a photo just send them a photo of you and whoever you take - I don't see why it would look awkward as lots of people go on holidays with friends. It's not like they would want a photo of you all over each other just because it's meant to be a 'romantic' place!

Both holidays I won I was asked about the type of room I wanted and the name of the person i was taking so could have opted for a twin room. I was never asked about the relationship between us and I don't see why they would ever need to know anyway! There are some comps that state in T&C's it's a double room but you can always ask for twin and if you're that bothered about sharing a bed you could always take a sleeping bag.

I guess honeymoon comps may fall into the same category as the family comps as although the T&C's might state that it's for 2 couples it would be obvious that it was meant for someone that had jut got married but I would still enter as I reckon most companies wouldn't care who went on the holiday. Worry about it all when you actually win one!

I took my grown up son to Norway as Mr GB was unable to get time off :(. Obviously we have the same surname, so we had to explain in order to make sure we got twin beds.
In the first hotel, the domestic staff used to push them together every day... :rotfl:
The second hotel needed a bit more persuasion that we really DID need twin beds, but gave us a lovely room & moved out the sofa to take an extra bed. However they didn't consider the opaque glass, (Which ISN'T :p!) wall of the en-suite bathroom at the end, (Why?!) We both took great interest in our emails during the other's shower- :rotfl: LOL!

I'm the same being single - I do try and research the prize accommodation before I enter though and have found there are quite a few times that the hotel etc only has double rooms. If it's somewhere I wouldn't mind going on my own and would be able to get to (I don't drive) I often still enter as I'd presume I could take the double for single use! The only time I usually enter for an only-double-room where I'd definitely need to take someone else with me is where there's a large sum of money in the prize too, cause I could then always pay for the extra room with the money but travel as if it was the 1 prize room!
I know people say it's worth risking not being able to negotiate the prize, but having not yet won any holiday or accommodation prizes, I think I'd be too disappointed to win and then not be able to use the prize!
