Mortgage payment not debited

Hi all,

First time poster, sorry if this has been answered on other threads but couldn't seen anything and would like your kind advise.

Bought a first time buyer house 23 July last year and the mortgage direct debit has been collect every pay day 25th ever since until June's payment didn't get debited from account and its remained like this for a week.

I've contacted both Barclays my mortgage provider and HSBC who my current account is with and basically after 2 hours of calls HSBC say they haven't received a request from Barclays and nothing pending yet Barclays say they requested and received the payment and I'm all up to date!

Obviously not going to spend the money but getting very frustrated at not getting this resolved after all this calls and them playing pass the parcel with me.

So I wondered if this is common, has this happened to anyone else, and if I just leave it what are the consequences, could it damage my credit rating in the future etc

Thanks

Karl ;)
