You will undoubtedly be asked an equal opportunities question.

Do NOT say, "I treat everyone the same"!!!!

They will want you to have some appreciation that different people have different need and the key is to assess their individual needs.

Also be very clear what areas are covered by Equalities legislation. ;)

I am a social worker, so I am able to help.

Not sure if you have had your interview so I will await a reply before posting my two pence worth. If you wish to discuss, send me a private message.

I was just involved in a redeployment process with 50+ FSW.

    We asked these questions:

    1) What have you done to prepare for this interview?
    2) What are the main tasks for you as a FSW and what skill do you possess in order to undertake role?
    3) Talk about a piece of work with a child /family that went well and what was your contribution?
    4) The area of work that we cover includes many cultures, religions and races. What do you think is important to consider when working with families from varied backgrounds?
    5) What does the term 'safeguarding' mean to you? How do you contribute to this element of our work?
    6) What do you understand by the need to work flexibly?

Most people struggled with the 'Safeguarding ' question (or at least that what the number crunchers tell me)

    how about these?
Why did you come into Social Care and what attracts you to this position?
How would you work with people and/or their carers who have a very high expectation about the services they want?
What do you understand by the term Person Centred Planning and how does it differ from a Social Work Assessment?
What do you understand by the term Self Directed Support and how would you incorporate it in your work?
Can you tell us about any other relevant policies or legislation which influence the way we work in Social Services?
How do you ensure that you keep up to date with changes to legislations and best practice?
What sort of situations or scenarios would prompt you to make a safeguarding alert?
What factors would you take into account when completing a risk assessment?
If a person is being cared for by a close relative, how do you balance the needs and rights of the Client and those of the Carer?
Can you give us a scenario where you have challenged an incident of discrimination?

there's loads more that they could ask you but you could start by preparing for these ones as I think that they tend to be quite common.
All of my views are my own :o
