I've had exactly the same. What part of I deny liability, give me the POPLA code or I won't reply don't they understand?

It's a civil matter over a request for monies, nothing else.

A denial of liability is exactly that. A PPC appeals process is something they've created for their own use.

to highview: re parking notice, add i have already stated i have no liability to you, and as such you must now provide me with a popla code, otherwise you must accept the challenge and your invoice will be null and void.
I am aware that descisions made by popla are binding on yourselves, but not on me, as the registered keeper.

I wouldn't even bother doing that as it tips them off that they've ignored the code of conduct.

Cheers guys - you've all made me feel really happy! I was getting like worried.

So, I can ignore from here on in - right? But then won't they send me lots of nasty letters cause they think they can ?

Should I write back again (I'll get help or something), saying give me the code, and write about the no liability thing ? Should I tell them I'm reporting them to the DVLA or something ?

Can I send them a fake invoice for wasiting my time and making me write more letters ?

    thanks guys

oh yeh - btw it was before 20th june - won't say more in case the beadie eye of the parking people are reading

I don't like relying on ignoring them from now on.

Reason is simple. If you don't have a POPLA code, then it's a straight choice for the PPC. They give up or go to court.

I much prefer forcing a code out of them and then adding their refusal to your POPLA appeal and then write complaining to BPA.

In fact, I would recommend a change to stroma's standard letter and give an appeal point that they can't argue is a genuine appeal point that they can refuse to respond to with a POPLA code/

As I have written elsewhere only a few minutes ago, I would write
    "Dear sirs,

My appeal point is that I do not recognise your authority in this car park or to offer any contracts to parking motorists.

Either accept that challenge or provide the POPLA code. Failure to do either will involve a complaint to the BPA complaining about your failure to adhere to their COP or POFA 2012.

It's make your mind up time and the clock is ticking.

    Yours faithfully

If I typed here that you were an ugly, old, smelly insignificant molecule of carbon matter would you consider that nasty ? Would you just ignore me ? Nasty letters deserve the same treatment ;)

PS - I am in no way suggesting you are any of the above :kisses3:

EDIT - Guys Dad's suggestion is equally valid !

They will not go to court, having flouted the CoP and most likely committed a crime. Complaints to all the relevant authorities is the way to go now. Gotta stop playing their stupid game at some point.

You could try but you'd never get the money unless they ( or you ) tried court.

I've tried this in the past with Companies and they just ignore it, so in theory you would be wasting more time and monies.

Keep tabs and in the unlikely event that this goes to Court, you can then claim expenses at this point.
