YBS or Chelsea...?

Hi
Looking to remortgage our property. LTV is approximately 60% so looking at either:
a) YBS - 1.69% fixed for 2 years (£1,345 fee); or
b) Chelsea BS - 1.64% fixed for 2 years (£1545 fee).
The difference in cost over the 2 years between the 2 is only about £100.
YBS have branches near us. Chelsea do not.
Wondering which is more likely to proceed more smoothly (customer service, speed, etc) particularly as my wife is currently on maternity leave.
Any thoughts gratefully received. Thanks.

Same company, processing carried out in Bradford for both companies. Although , I believe they are moving to Leeds soon.
Chelsea branches are south of Birmingham and this was kept like this when YBS bought out ChelseaDebt free as of 7.20am on 31st December 2012.
Wow. Feels great :j :beer:0 -
Honest answer to your question is neither are famed for speed, service etc.
When at market leading rates, they are in high demand which will affect speed and additionally they are very, very selective.

I have recently submitted my first mortgage to Accord (part of the same group as ybs/chelsea)... They are a nightmare. My hairline isnt doing the best anyway and they really are not helping. They ask for things that are just pointless as the info is found on other documents already sent in... and this is a case that i thought would be relatively straightforward!
Im hoping this is the first and last time i ever have to use them. I know someone that used to work for them as an underwriter and when i told her i submitted a case to them she just laughed as she knew what i was going to say... that tells you something doesnt it.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks - that's useful. I'm thinking it may be wise to go into a branch to try and get them to oil the wheels...0
