Hair dye- missed a bit!

So a lovely flaming copper.

It's not dry yet but there are some distinctly brown bits,particularly at the front where I seem to have completely missed the top inch in width and no idea in length.Some of the underneath appears brown too which,having curly hair,will undoubtedly show!

I do have another pack of the dye here (probably should have used both).

So,do I just go over the brown and browner bits in the morning or do I redo the whole lot?:o

I don't really want to look an idiot.Will use a mirror this time too!

I used the same box colour although different shade - it tried so patchy I ended up going over with another colour.

Was not impressed (I used two boxes too so got good coverage)

I did wonder if it was due to the dye itself.The mousse didn't seem very even in colour either!

Thsi is a very common misconception, the vast majority of home dyes do lighten your hair, they use the same developer for the lighter shades as for the dark ones, it does the same thing. It lifts your colour, then deposits the dye.

To combat damage from this though, you can saturate your hair with coconut oil, then dye straight over the top. It doesn't interefere with the dying process (it seems to speed bleaching for some people in fact), and protects your hair from most of the damage from the developer.
