Fluff disaster!

Just unloaded the washing machine, and a blanket I put in seems to have disintegrated.
Everything else that was in the load is now covered in white fluff.
How do I get my clothes clean again?
It is very fine and everything is totally covered so I don't think sellotape will work. My black jeans are now grey

You put a fluffy white blanket in to wash with your black jeans.......?????CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

It wasn't a fluffy blanket when I put it in!
Its a blanket the dog lies on so I usually put it in with a dark wash as its a bit grubby to go in with a white wash and I'm not doing it in a load all on its own (although now I have learnt my lesson and will do!)0 -
Do you have a tumble drier?? If so put the washing in there for a while and it will remove most of the fluff then wash again.
HTH:j:j:jmummybear3I will declutter, I will declutter............meaning less to clear away and more time to spend with my lovely family0 -
not very MSE but the tumble drier might help get the fluff off (or it might make it worse)
have you tried hanging the fluffed stuff up outside to see if the wind will blow it off as it dries?
and eurgh to washing animal blankets with your own stuff (where is the shuddering smiley when you need it)just in case you need to know:

Rubber gloves! You know when you wonder what to do with holey rubber gloves, well this is it! Put on the gloves and "brush" the fluff off. Very labour intensive, but it does work (and works wonders on the bingo wings too
)

I was going to suggest the tumble dryer too, it should remove most of the fluff.0

I have no tumble dryer but will try hanging stuff outside and then use the rubber gloves, give the neighbours some entertainment watching my rubber glove action in the garden tomorrow!
I usually wash the sofa blanket with my old clothes, they are covered in dog fur anyway and I still kinda assume they come out the washer cleaner than they went in! (although not this time!)0 -
You might find that once it's dried, it'll be easier to brush the fluff off the jeans.0
-
When they're dry give them a brushing with a clothes brush and then pat off any stubborn bits with Sellotape - sticky side obviously! Takes ages but good for bingo wings....0
