I remember reading a story about a woman who went to the doctors with a broken arm and covered in bruises. The Gp asked what had happend and the woman said her husband had done it to her. The doctor said he thought her husband was working away this week, the woman replied ........... So did i.

    Is that a joke?

Also how would the doctor know the husband was working away?

I was on painkillers for 6 years after breaking my elbow and during my sick leave, had trouble even getting dressed and putting a coat on. I'd go into town after my hospital appointments just because I was bored rigid going back home again. I still can't straighten it and my accident was 8 years ago.
That's a very good point: I had months of hospital and physio appointments, and usually rewarded myself with a visit to a coffee shop afterwards rather than catching the bus straight home again!
