Council tax refund

Hi

I moved out of my property in November and I am still waiting for a refund of £300. After chasing them I don't know how many times, I finally got them to send me a refund request back in March and sent it off and everytime I called, they said they were busy and were doing refunds in batches.

I chased them again on Wed and they told me the cheque had been sent to a completely random address and now I have to go through the whole system again and....wait!

I asked to speak to a manager and was told that as it was a call centre, they have to request a call back and despite me chasing it up twice, I'm still waiting.

Is it me or is that a farce?! Is there anything I can do such as threaten interest, court action to get them to pull their fingers out and give me my money?

Would it be possible for you to turn up in person and say that you're not going anywhere until you've got your cheque?
