Hello there,
Has anybody encountered a company called Give me my money? I am currently in the process of helping a family member to retrieve money paid into a SERPS scheme and they are asking for 199.00 to proceed with the claim.
Has anyone else been in the same position? Help!!!!!
Thanks

Why are they saying that the SERPS money can be "retrieved"?
Don't pay them anything, it will almost certainly be a waste of £199.I am an IFA. Any comments made on this forum are provided for information only and should not be construed as advice. Should you need advice on a specific area then please consult a local IFA.0 -

The FSA did a review of SERPS about 5 years ago and found a failure rate of about 1.5%. They produced a flow chart and guide to consumers to help them understand if they have been mis-sold or not. Effectively if you were under the age of 45 at the point of contracting out then it is unlikely you were mis-sold.
Here is an article in 2006:

Here is the consumer guide with the flowchart:

Nice little earner for them. They put in 100 complaints with a 1.5% chance of success. 98.5% of the people end up worse off but they make £19,900.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
