Poundland does 4 rechargeable AA batteries for £1.

7 Day Shop are pretty good and cheap, but watch out for the P&P Charges, £3.95 for standard delivery on all orders. Which is OK if your not look for a Pack of AAA Rechargeables at £3.29 like I was.

You can also use QuidCo with them.

Like normal batteries rechargebles come in many power ratings (Duracell to 12 or £1).
The ones from poundland are low power so if you use them in high drain equipment ie digital cameras they won't last long.

So you have to buy for what you want to use them for.
For a digital camera >1800mAh but for a tv remote the poundland ones should last a month or so so OK

Again charges charge at different rates. I have two and they would charge my high power camera batteries in about 60-90 minutes or 12-18 hours. I'm sure you can guess which is the most expensive!

So you really need to know\say what you want to use them for (to work out the batteries power rating) and then this will tell you what charger you will need to get them charged in 60-90 minutes

Maplins often do a deal on their recharge batteries. They do various power ratings and seem to last a long time (charge many times).
  • I often keep a lookout for rechargeable offers, but always seem to head back to 7day shop As mentioned above. I have always found service to be great and so long as you want more than one of something, the postage works out reasonable too. They offer loads of chargers and numerous types of battery. They even have a charger and 4 batteries for less than a pack of 4 good alkaline in the shops.
