Not sure if this appeals to anyone but could worthwhile, I think they text you the results so could be worth using a throw away sim?

    If you can just search for your local GUM clinic, they will test for hiv, chlamydia etc for free.

    Agreed...

    However if you had a suspicion you maybe affected, perhaps this discreet method of diagnosis would be welcome to some.

    ...only if you give permission. Does it state in their Code of Practice they must have your GP's details?

    No: the GUM clinics are confidential. Lots of people don't want their doctors to know what they get up to, which is why GUM clinics are necessary.

    Obviously, if someone discovers that they are HIV positive then there are good reasons for telling their doctor (and dentist), but it is up to the patient.
