Statute barred debt

I had a DC pursuing a statute barred debt a short while ago. I wrote the standard letter to them, informing them that I knew the debt to be SB and have heard nothing from them. The phone calls have stopped which is good, but they haven't acknowledged my letter or written to tell me they won't be chasing the debt.

Should they have it written, and does it matter that they haven't? Should I leave it at that? If it makes any difference, the debt was for £130 of which I'm fairly certain at least £110+ was charges
