NatWest valuation delays

  • For what its worth I have just got off the phone from Natwest who have just received a valuation report for one of our clients and they say 'offer in 3 working days' at the moment.

Actually that one in E12 valued in a week - the big delay generally seems to be where Homebuyers Report involved.

    SPM - that's what I'm thinking..

That's interesting reapz69, what part of the country are you in if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Brighton, where the property market seems to have gone doolalley again over the last few months.

Ah.. crossed messages there. Really? That is very interesting. My buyer didn't have a homebuyers, just a mortgage valuation. That might have been why it happened fairly quickly then. I, on the other hand, am having both.

Just throwing this out there.... wonder if it would be any quicker to get NW just to do valuation and get homebuyer's report done with local independent instead? Prob not, if they're being instructed by the big lenders anyway.

Salisbury and the survey report comes from landmark surveyors consort house horley surrey.

there was no home buyers report
  • Consider reducing to standard via lender (but check if they can reduce lead time as a result) + do your homebuyers via 'vvvvvv.localsurveyorsdirect.co.uk'. Will get you very competitive quotes very quickly (we have used that for a number of clients with no problems)

Just wondering what the brokers on here make of this? In a nutshell, says RICS disputing talk of there not being enough capacity/enough surveyors to cope with backlog, and actual issue is down to low pay and risk of being sued.
