Is CSA paid in arrears or advance?

My daughter recently went to live with her dad & the CSA are demanding back most of the last payment they sent me.
I thought I was getting paid in arrears so i'm slightly confused.

I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

I was paid before she left. I got paid on the 4th April & she left on the 12th April.
I assumed that I was being paid 4 weekly in arrears so very surprised when I got the letter asking for the money back.
They were taking the money out of his wages on the 19th of every month as he'd refused to pay.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

You would have to check back from when the liabilty was du and what was paid, I know mine is paid 1 week in arrears (as I pay weekly) but it would be a month in arrears if I paid monthly, DEO may work slightly different. I'm surprised they asked for the money back.0 -

My daughter went to my mums for a couple of days following a row at home & I only found out she was going to live with him cos the CSA phoned & told me the day before. I'd imagine that he asked about getting the money back.
Thanks, i'll have to look through all my paperwork & try to match the payments up.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Is your case from before 2003 or after it? Ask them for a statement/account breakdown, if it was post 2003 then this can be done at the press of a button.0

Tying in with some other threads, I would be very interested to know who has/had the child benefit?0
