5.09% fixed until 30/06/2009 fee of £599 that can be added to the loan with alliance & leicester it is always best to pay fees up front how ever if this is not possible then you can add it to the loan amount

Can't see this on their website, is this a 'special'?

    Hi

My Nat West is up for renewal end of June.

Just got a new rate from Nat West: 2 yr fixed @ 5.65 - with £499 fees.

Anyone know if this rate can be beaten?

I'm due to contact Nat West soon re accepting the above, can I quote the following to Nat West to see if they will match it?

If you ported your current mortgage and took a second mortgage for the additional borrowing on new house, you may be able to move the borrowing from the first mortgage to the second at the same rate when the first deal ends. Worth asking your potential new lender.

    :)

Sorry but I don't get what you mean....

    Hi,

I've just posted elsewhere but thought I'd try on this thread too - I'm looking at an A&L 5 year fix - their website says rate is 5.47% and the arrangement fee is £599.

I would like the reassurance of a fixed rate as it looks as though rates are only going to go up in the short term.

I'm aware I could get a better rate for a 2 yr fix but would prefer a 5 yr one.

What does everyone think of this deal - any good or is there better available?

This is a special for A&L premier current account holders (I am one!).

Also, does anyone know if it's possible to be referred to this or go via any of the cashback sites to make a little extra to meet some of the legal bills to come?!

    Many thanks in advance.

    Regards,
  • Hi I am looking for 95% loan and amt would be around 150 - 170K
what would be the best deal around.
there are good deal for 75% but when it touches 90 - 95% it goes up.
if anybody did some homework on 95% loan amt then can they share it pls?

I'm in position to negotiate from 1st July - I've come to the end of my fixed rate deal and went on the stand variable for a year which has reached just over 6%- I'm paying around £335.00 per month and have 22 years left on the mortgage from Sep. My mortagage remaining is around £46,000

I'm thinking of using London & Coun as a mortagage broker, is there any advice people on here can recommend , i.e what to look out for, what is considered as a good deal, fixed, capped etc

I'm with Alliance & Leicester at the moment

    Thanks

We tried L&C but found a better mortgage ourselves. Although they can search the whole of market, there are still a lot of mortgages they cannot quote.

I also spoke with another broker, and had the same experience. When we point out the one we found, that beat his best, he basically said "oh yeah, that ones better for you".

I would advise maybe seeing what they can do, bu also looking around yourself.
