Fantastic update :j
Our next door neighbours children have all grown up now and they have just asked us if we would like their climbing frame :j It is a TP explorer thing, with a slide and monkey bridge and they do not want a penny for it :j
I am sooooo excited, it is an amazing joint birthday present for them as their birthdays are so close. Added to that we saw FIL who wasn't sure what to get them so he gave us a cheque for £50 to buy a den to put on the climbing frame :j
OUr plan is to put it up the night before DD's birthday as it is hers first and she is older than DS and understand birthday's more. Have been looking and I can get the den on ELC via quidco, and there are quite a few things for about £5 which will make really good presents.
I cannot believe our good luck, it is in really good condition as well. DH is going to make the land even and put some bark down which will cost about £25 but I think this equipment costs about £200+ new.
So, looks like birthday is sorted, I will still get DD some small presents that I know she wants as I have now raised about £70 from ebay.
Just had to share.......wine on the way to neighbours :T0 -
Fantastic news and the kids will be made up to get such a fab present.
don't let up on the challenge though - you can use the money for Christmas, pay it off your debt, or...........
treat yourself

Hi Hypno
I've still got a huge list to ebay so I am keeping up the challenge, esecially as I still need to pay for DD's trip to the cinema and want to use th emoney for the bark. Unfortunately it may become "Pay the car tax Challenge" as I forgot it was due in July and I only have £25 car tax stamps
I have just checked again and ebay has gone up to £74 and still going :j
We may set ourselves another challenge though as we saw a tent in Aldis for £70 and we want to go camping this year. Have got the hang of Matched Betting :j so may try and use this to pay for a tent.
Have about £80 in quidco which is absolutely, no questions asked debt money so I'm not touching that.
I'm soo excited, I just can't wait to see their faces when they see it :T

Fab fab news on the climbing frame thingy!
Remember to sneak some goodies into the pictures - you could maybe make up wee bags with some sweets in & then maybe just buy popcorn(mind you could take that as well!)I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Hi again - update on my challenge:-
Ebay - £97.63
Amazon - £5.73
Cheque from FIL - £50.00
Total - £153.36
:j
DH has spent £40 on things from B&Q to sort out the garden for the playground and make it safe - I thought we could just put it on the ground but apparently not :rotfl: Den has been ordered from ELC (via Quidco of course!) and got DS a few little things from there. We have also got some lego in the loft we bought off ebay ages ago to give him, so he is sorted.
We have £43.36 left to get a few little things for DD and go to the pictures. Of course we will be taking our own snacks, (thanks for suggestion) and DD has a very small friend who I'm sure we could sneak in a bag
My friend has agreed to go to the cinema and help out with kids on a Wednesday (will be School holidays) and she has only been invited as she has an orange phone like me so we can get one in free :j
So I think I've completed my challenge :T
My next challenge is to get cash to pay for the car tax instead of taking it out of next months budget. Still have a load of stuff to ebay, so watch this space..........................0
