Also note that you don't have to buy an annuity when you retire, there are other options such as drawdown, where you can remain in equities while retired, or perhaps for the first part of your retirement...0

If I were you I might at least put off crystallising the pension until the recent rise of interest rates on Gilts is reflected in annuity rates. In fact unless you are 75 or thereabouts, I might avoid annuities altogether and consider income drawdown.Free the dunston one next time too.0

What was your pension pot valued at 12 months ago?
I wouldn't be surprised if your up over the last year, just down on the highs of a few weeks ago.0
