Chicken dish left out, safe to eat?

Morning all, l cooked some chicken yesterday and put in a coronation chicken sauce to eat today, but l accidentally left it out on the kitchen work top last night instead of refrigerating when it was cool.

It's in the fridge now, do you think it's safe to eat cold tonight? :(

Happy moneysaving all.

Did you use shop bought mayonnaise? If so, I'd probably eat it unless your kitchen is particularly warm. I probably wouldn't give it to the elderly/infirm etc. But people have been known to transport sandwiches etc. with it on for several hours and eat them.

Thanks FP, yes it was a jar of coronation chicken sauce, cooked the chicken, mixed with the sauce then took off the heat.

But l forgot to refrigerate it. I think I'd better chuck it, shame as the sauce was from a local deli and tasted gorgeous.

    I wouldn't.

I left a chicken sandwich in the car earlier in spring - it wasn't a hot day but it was warmish in the car. It was there about 3 hours - I ate it and very much regretted it soon after _pale_

I`d eat it! It hasn`t been in the sun overnight. If it was iout all day it`d be dodgy, but I`ve left cooked chicken in the oven (oven cooled, of course & off) overnight and it`s been fine. If it was raw I`d say sling it though.
Leaving stuff in the car - it gets warmer than you`d think, sort of greenhouse effect, even when it`s not very sunny.

I'd eat it.. I've left chicken dishes a couple of nights and they've been fine..

I'd not eat anything containing meat or fish that had been left in a hot car for a few hours.. that is madness.. it just boils.. look how quick a chocolate bar melts in the car.. it is a good indicator of heat, that wouldn't happen overnight in the kitchen unless you live somewhere very hot or had the heating on furnace.
