Personally I'd break up the green and brown by going lighter, Cream or Gold with cushions etc to match.
Or possibly a combination, striped/ patterned of all 3 colours?

If all the walls are green then I'd avoid that and try and go lighter if poss. You can pretty much get away with any neutral colours if you can have a few accessories around that match: cushions, ornaments, pictures, rug.

If you have 1 feature wall that's green, (and the windows not on it!) than I'd match the curtains with that.

    Hope i've helped some.

I'd go for a print which combined the natural tones you have in the walls and sofa with a nice accent colour like magenta or turquoise to add a bit of interest.

Our living room has cream and light sage green walls and we have beigy sofas and carpet. It all looked a bit too calm and neutral until we added the magenta print curtains, cushions and rug which livened it up really nicely :)

I agree with bambibear - that whole post is great! I would probably go for a cream curtain accented with brown - cream to maximise the light from the windows, brown to accent the sofas and the fireplace surround. I know that the suggestions don't sound very adventurous, but the type of material that is used can make a whole heap of difference. My own room is done up in shades of brown and cream, but the wallpaper has bronze and silver highlights, and the curtains themselves are a shimmery bronze, which brought it all together nicely without just being a solid patch of brown.

Try hitting the Thanks button once in a while, xyz123. You might get more helpful answers.

You've got darker, gloomy colours so you need curtains which are lighter coloured to provide a contrast. For example these curtains from Dunelm Mill are pink on a cream background.
