I am just wondering where everyone buys their fruit and veg from, for a reasonable price?
There isn't a market near me, and the greengrocers are very expensive compared to the supermarkets.
I have found a great place that sells meat at good prices, but i can't work out where to get fruit and veg from.
Is aldi as good as it gets for the price of F&V?

Exactly the same as Ilona. I get to the supermarket for 7pm and get almost all my fruit and vegetables in the YS section for up to 90% off. The only fruit we usually buy full price is loose bananas, since I think they're reasonably priced in supermarkets.0

Another vote for yellow stickers.
I also shopped in Iceland this week. net of x 3 large onions £1, large bag of potatoes £3 , carrots 50p sm bag, banana's £1, bumper bag of apples £2.
I also buy frozen veg from Iceland. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Aldi are good, I tend to shop between them, the local farm shop and market, our greengrocer has some good deals as well.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I dont think there is any one answer to this so much depends on your own area, what stores you can get to,can you time it right to get reductions etc.
I have not always been impressed with Aldi fruit and veg and its a 45 min busride to get there, but I like to go and look as I then have the choice of a market and fruit and veg shop also its quite close to Morrisons, who have some good deals. I find though that I can take all afternoon searching about.Slimming World at target0 -
I agree with Meg72, our Aldi is rubbish for fruit and salad things. (We don't buy veg in the summer as we never have hot dinners.) Its true that its probably the cheapest, except for the YS ones but it dosn't last very long at all. So false economy in the end.
I go to Tesco's on a Wednesday and buy fruit for OH for the week and it lasts all week. Salad things last all week as well, cucumber, tomatoes that sort of thing.0 -
I usually get my stuff from Aldi and it's been ok for me. Local markets or grow it on our allotment. I grow salad in black buckets next to the back door, it's fab being able to pop outside and snip a bit off when needed.:hello:

Personally I'd vote roadside stall or market.(Invariably fresher than something thats had to go to a central distribution centre!) Then again I have a roadside stall so I would say that! I go for aldi when my growing seasons finished, good quality for the price:)
Strawberries roadside today were 1.50 for a huge punnet, and carrots are 50p a bunch:D2013 NSD 100. CC2014CC- £31.50/£1352014 NSD 86 so far - May 20/212014 G/C spend £741.55 so far May £107.99/£91Debt Free - 30.05.13 Emergency tin - £1000June 23 - 9NSD0 -
Mostly Aldi, the town market or carboot sale on Sundays. Aldi is a bit hit and miss. Last week i bought some bananas on super 6 as my DP likes one to take to work daily, but by day 2 they were fit for the bin. Prefer getting the 'keep me' bananas from Mr T's for longer lasting but a little more expensive.2015 wins :j Sekonda watch, Harry Potter hardback book,0

The markets are the cheapest place for me. We have lots of fruit and veg stalls.90% off Tesco f & v, I wish. My tesco is in the next village, the market 5 miles away. My nearest tesco knocks around 10-15% off items, you are lucky if you get 25% off. None of my major supermarkets do good prices off compared o what I see mentioned on here. Aldi and Lidl can be cheap, but limited availabilty range wise and some can not be good quality. Farm shops would be my next place to try.0
