Mortgage reply delay

Hi all I am waiting on the official yes or no from Halifax they have all they need incl Home Report and valuation which has now been typed onto their headed paper on Tuesday o I have been told. But my MA said that Halifax have a backlog for mortgage apps at the moment we have been given an unofficial yes so my MA says she is just waiting on the offer being faxed to her.So is this backlog causing delays everywhere or is it just me.We applied for this on the 28/5 so the not knowing is driving me mad.
