I am temping in a job where I am just so bored. I am mostly sat on my own typing from transcript I can hardly read and BORED!!!
I know I should be grateful for a job and I am but I also work weekends which I love. I am seriously considering just doing that
The agency doesn't have much at the moment and I worry if I leave this job, they won't find me another again but I have got the other to fall back on
Oh what to do.

You said it: 'The agency doesn't have much at the moment and I worry if I leave this job, they won't find me another again but I have got the other to fall back on' I would stick it out for as long as you can. Jobs are tough to get now. Sucks but that's the situation. I'd hammer it as much as I could and save all I could.0

Yeah, I'd stick it out until you find something else or have enough to live off when there's no money coming in...can guarantee you'll be more bored sitting at home, having no money to go out! (hope that doesn't sound too harsh, do sympathise with having boring work, can be a bit crushing)0

There's no dilemma imo. Stick it out. You can always be looking for something else in the meantime.Herman - MP for all!

Agree with the others. Stick it out whilst you look for something better. It is far easier to get a job when you are working than it is when you are unemployed.
Study, work hard, brush up your skills, work on a programme of self improvement to make you more attractive to employers.
Have a good long think about what you actually want from a job. Formulate a strategy and then work towards your goals.
Try and set up a little sideline business or secondary job so you can build up your savings. What about that weekend job - any chance you can extend the hours there.
Build up an emergency fund or contingency fund. In our house we call it a "F*** You" Fund. Very naughty I know but you can understand the reasoning. :rotfl:
If you have money behind you and you find yourself in a situation which is intolerable to you then you can just walk away. It might be a job, a relationship gone badly wrong or the landlord from hell.
If you have some money behind you then you have choices.
Ride it out, build up your savings, plan a better future.
Are you allowed to wear headphones whilst you type or would that be beyond the pale.
I once had a job where I was stuck in my own little ivory tower, right at the top of the building. It was in the days before Ipods etc I had a little radio on low in the background so I could listen to music whilst I did the boring stuff.
I just switched it off when the phone went. The boss was quite happy with that.0 -
I agree with the others stick with it and keep your reputation with the agency. Change your thinking and your job will be the least important. Concentrate on your other job and out of work activities. I love crafting and get really excited if I have a free evening just doing that. I know a work colleague who had a garden and couldn't wait to get out there after work and at weekends.
In my old job we were allowed to wear headphones and listened to the radio or listen again on the computer. Made boring jobs much more interesting.
It will pass and there are better things to come. Things that test us make us grow.0 -

Yes I possibly can but its not guranteed. I sell bits here and there as and when I can either via the bay of e or f/b and also on any sales site at the companies I work for.

Loving the fund name. Just saving up at the moment for a new car then most extra cash will go towards being mortgage free which will then help towards both Mr Lema and I both working part-time

I can listen to the radio so thats good.
Thanks guysLucylema x :j0 -
What I did when I didn't like my job was look around for a job I'd prefer. Apply for one and hand in my notice if I got it

Good luck!
