So creeping up to my target
The best thing is NO money spent this week so far apart from Ebay postage.I am trying so hard not to spend on anything I cant earn money on or that I don't absolutely need
As have to find an extra £500 a month as I have upped my overpayments on the mortgage to £1000:eek::eek: from £500.So as the saying goes every penny counts at the moment.

  • First post ever :j

I first saw this challenge and thought to myself it wasnt possible, but I decided to give it a go and its amazing how much money there actually is to be saved or found!

I know it wont always be as easy as it is the first time you look at it, but i got off to a great start.

    1. £80 from selling shares i was left with when my company was taken over. I barely remembered i had these as the takeover was 7 years ago and i sold all my shares then. But 8 were left because at the time i hadnt held them quite long enough to sell them under the share plan rules.

    2. Called orange after realising (mid 2 year contract) that I wasnt using anywhere near all of my minutes or data. The moved me from a £41 a month to a £27 a month plan and all i had to do was half my data usage (i still wont use it all!) So that saves £14 a month

    3. Switched my cards to 0% for 27 months with Barclays. Its a crime i hadnt done this sooner really  saving £19 a month interest (although did have the BT fee added on to my balance which wipes out the saving this month and next)

    3. Cancelled Sky sports & movies. No braniner. Im skint and paied 92 quid a month to Sky. Must have been insane!

    4. Sold DVD's to Music Magpie for £22

    5. Checked my mbma account to find that i'd built up 6000 points and could claim £30 Sainsburys vouchers. I didnt even get the card for the points, just the rate. Never bothered with it.

On top of this i had a bit of luck winning a charity scratch card at a do last weekend.

I think i'm going to become addicted to this :D

Love the forum, hoping it can help me take and provide motivation to rid myself of my horrible debts once and for all!

    Hey guys,

Sorry I've not been around over the last week or so, have gotten myself VERY tied up in unexpected freelance work. 14 hour days do not look good on me! Lol

Over the weekend I netted myself £25 cash from Job Number Three and £5 from Amazon sales, taking me to £166.63/£300.

Hopefully last week's freelance invoice will be paid soon so I have more to add.

Okay, nose back to grindstone. Have a good evening everyone xx

Can I ask for some advice please. Remember that job lot of vintage cameras I picked up for £6 the lot? I listed 2/3 of them on eBay so far, all at £1.99 each. Someone emailed me an offer of £10 for one of them. It has no bids but it has 16 watchers. I'm not sure what to do...
