Lots of people come in this thread and say similar things, and i thank every post on this thread and the GC thread simply so i know where I have read up to, and to thank everyone for any help/advice/inspiration they might have provided. Also so new people know that I have read the post, and not just ignored post. I'm interested in how everyone does and I like them to know I have read the post.
Clearly i'm wrong. I apologise to anyone i have upset and i'll simply stop thanking post.
Pretty gutted at the comments. I would never encourage a spammer. Lots of people leave short messages saying they are inspired or would like to join or whatever. Some people carry on posting, others we don't hear anything from for weeks.
I'm gonna keep away from the board for a few days. I have too much going on to deal with this too. And for the record, i'm not blind. Just short sighted.
Aw CP don't let some silly comment bother you! That person is obviously just out to cause trouble - best ignored! xxxxDebt at Aug 2010 (LBM) £21,908.86, Debt Freeeeee Date 4th Nov 2013 :j:j:j Massive Thanks to the £10 per day thread :A Next goals:Savings £1203.16/£10,000******Mortgage to Zero: £52,579.46 to go

There's no need to keep away the person who made those comments isn't even a regular of this thread.
Best just to ignore.0 -

I would just pop them on your ignore list. They seem to be trying to annoy/wind up/belittle people on all threads that the 'spammer' posted. I'm not quite sure how they were obvious as a spammer though so I probably would have thanked them too.
That particular poster seems to like to make themselves feel 'big' at the expense of others. I seem to remember them trying to prove I was wrong in one of my comments and asked for relevant proof. Well proof was provided and I dont beleive they replied after that. Will need to double check that.
On another note, I made the Next sale at 5am . Spent £60 but £44 of that was voucher and only £16 was real money. All DS stuff bought in a bigger size and put away for next year. I only ever buy Next clothes in the sale. Will have more vouchers at Xmas so cant wait for the Christmas sale :rotfl:
Cleared the LOs drawers and have a bagful of stuff to sell on eBay and to hand to cash for clothes. My gold pack also arrived today so will get that packaged up and sent on Monday.0 -
I'm over it now... But thanks for the support. I really didn't know it was a spam. I would most certainly never encourage it. Find it comical that they have "thanked" my post though. Oh well... Lets just forget about it and get back to the thread.....
Today, £6 off a £40 spend at Mr T's. That is all I have to add. All my auctions end tomorrow so looking forward to seeing how it all pans out. A few bids on things and quite a few watchers
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone

Whilst checking online banking I noticed things weren't adding up. It was showing I had an extra £40 where I keep a spreadsheet so it's down to the latest penny. After much head scratching dh reminded me we were given money at the end of last month and instead of paying it in we just took less out for groceries. Totally forgot we had done it so an extra £40
Had an Indian takeaway this evening and had vouchers which meant £5 off. Takeaway for 2 with all the extras for £14. If we have the same as an eat in meal (which we haven't done for months) somehow we don't get much change from £40??!!SCS Carpets 0% finance: [STRIKE]£1331.84[/STRIKE] £132.90

Blimey, I didn't know there was a 'thanks button etiquette. Nor did I notice a spammer, whatever, that is.
I 'thank' lots of people as they need encouragement, as they have been thru the financial mincer.
Cp, pay no mind. I love your posts. It's not the despair, Laura. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand. ~ Brian Stimpson, Clockwise0 -
I thank everyone too unless what they have written is utter tripe or offensive. If people have taken the time to write and what they say is relevant, then I see no reason not to thank them??!! I didn't see the post that was meant to be spam, but I certainly didn't thank the 'attacking' posts .
And, as you said cp, it helps to know where you are up to when a thread moves quickly!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Ok, to draw a line under the unpleasantness. Unfortunately I saw it in the morning before I went out and was out all day and my phone battery died so could not respond/communicate further.
The posts have been removed, I have removed mine as it does not make sense out of context, apart from the WE TRY TO BE WELCOMING TO EVERYBODY WHO POSTS ON THE THREAD. that still stands.
Just for information, a spammer, is generally someone who has suddenly created an account, ie joined July 2013, has about 3 posts, none thanked and makes some random remark, like good thread, thanks for info, and works around different boards, doing the same. They do this to get their profile upto a point they can post links. These links are always spam links and unfortunately people get taken in by them and end up either ripped off or being spammed.
It is difficult to spot a spammer, as we genuinely get a newbie who has signed up July 2013, only made 2 or 3 posts, and as they are so new to the threads and maybe feeling shy about posting, doesn't usually say much.
As CP correctly said some will just say, how do I make money? They have stumbled on the thread and don't understand how it works. A fair enough question.
Anyway, line drawn. New day, last day of ebay listing and let's go.0 -
Ok Aesop, back to business as usual.
So far today.

Added £15 eBay profit after fees plus £15 for unexpected refund from school for a cancelled activity. Not sure if this should count really but convinced myself it should0
