Hi Everyone,
I was declared BR yesterday. Went to the Nationwide this morning and was able to open an account straight away. Is a basic account for wages and Direct Debits. The manager even asked if i wanted an overdraft!! but i declined:D .

Sadly it doesn't surprise me. They make money out of people being in debt, not in credit. It's in their interest to keep you in debt and obviously some banks just don't give a toss about the status of the debtor. That's how my FIL was able to accrue £50k in CCs/loans at the age of 67 on state benefits.0
