Creepy crawlers bug maker

Hiya, my son has just seen an (old, pre recorded) advert for this creepy crawlers bug maker toy and says he is desperate for it for his birthday.
I've searched for it, it's got terrible reviews on amazon historically and is now out of stock, its also discontinued in argos.
I am reluctant to spend loads of money on it if I can find it, given the reviews. The reviews say it stays as liquid it doesn't even do what it says it should do.
However, there's a few old posts on here saying that in 2011 home bargains stocked it for 8.99 , which is a price I can deal with.
There's a few on fleabay but the postage is massive.
If anyone's seen any knocking about in the shops,id really appreciate it if you'd let me know where,thanks so much
